View of El Tablado from Franceses | Built approximately 120 years ago, La Casita is one of the oldest cottages in the tiny hamlet of Lomo de Los Machos y Las Tierras (Ridge of the Men and the Land), in Franceses in the picturesque north of La Palma far away from the islands tourists centres. There is a small village shop/bar open during the day and a second bar open in the evenings. In nearby hamlets there are 2 simple restaurants serving local food. There is a limited bus service available. |

Relax There are two patios adjacent to the house. The upper patio has two garden chairs and trolley table and the lower patio has two wooden sun loungers plus bench seating around an octagonal wooden table with parasol, additionaly, there is a patio of wooden decking on the west facing side of the finca which is actually a fantastic look-out point over the next village. Because the area is so quiet you can often hear the villagers talking and the goat bells tinkling. |

Garden Produce Guests are welcome to enjoy produce as available from the finca including melons, courgettes, peppers, garlic, cucumbers, strawberries, etc., as well as from the orange, fig and pear trees and tunos (prickly pear from the cactus plants), depending on the season. Additionally, the 12 chickens can normally be relied upon to produce tasty fresh eggs for breakfast every morning. |

In the heart of this rural community, less than a 15 minute drive from the sea, lies Finca Franceses. This is a smallholding (finca) of 8,000 sq/m growing fruit and vegetables. It comprises the main farmhouse and an adjoining cottage, known as La Casita (the little house). |
