La Casita, Franceses, Rural holiday accommodation on La Palma, Canary IslandsSea views over the rugged scenery of La Palma, Canary Island
In the rugged unspoilt north of the island of La Palma there is almost no tourism.
Here you will find Canarian people going about their normal daily business of working the land or milking the goats.
In the heart of this rural community, less than a 15 minute drive from the sea, lies Finca Franceses. This smallholding (finca) of 8,000 sq/m growing fruit and vegetables comprises the main farmhouse and an adjoining cottage, known as La Casita (the little house).
La Casita is a 2 storey self-catering cottage completely restored in the traditional Canarian style.
Ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle of modern life, it makes a good center for exploring the north of La Palma by car, walking or hiking.

Sleeps 2 people in a large romantic bedroom with double bed. There are amazing views of almost the entire north coast of La Palma, the green sloping hills, the barrancos (gorges), the villages and sea.

The Spacious en suite bathroom includes a Victorian style cast iron bath

The English owners live in the house next door and will respect you privacy and help you if needed.

Built approximately 120 years ago, La Casita is one of the oldest cottages in the tiny hamlet of Lomo de Los Machos y Las Tierras (Ridge of the Men and the Land), in Franceses in the picturesque north of La Palma. There is a small village shop/bar open during the day and a second bar open in the evenings. In nearby hamlets there are 2 simple restaurants serving local food. There is a limited bus service available.

Relax
There are two patios adjacent to the house.
The upper patio has two garden chairs and trolley table and the lower patio has two wooden sun loungers plus bench seating around an octagonal wooden table with parasol. Additionaly, there is a patio of wooden decking on the west facing side of the finca which is actually a fantastic look-out point over the next village. Because the area is so quiet you can often hear the villagers talking and the goat bells tinkling.
